History, the subject of neighborhood committee Renaissance

Committee Neighborhood Renaissance Lemmens was established following the incidents of 1997 and as a result of renovation projects in the area.

Between 1997 and 2002, the animation renaissance of the Committee Lemmens was fully insured by the staff of the CRU in the subsidy Regional Integrated Local Development (DLI). Committee: a recurring basis, the Committee works to alert the municipality of Anderlecht on various problems of nuisance caused by the economic functions of the district, the malfunction of the projects of the district contract Lemmens, poor communal management of public buildings and problem tenants.
Furthermore, the Committee is implementing various measures to promote investment and friendliness of the people in their neighborhood: block party, "Green Areas", participation in the St. Nicolas Ward, pottery workshops, journal neighborhood ...

The Committee is to all projects, activities or approaches aimed

• in general: the promotion of "man in the neighborhood and the neighborhood in the city," focusing on the urban dimension of human ; the fight against racism, antisemitism and xenophobia;
• especially: the refurbishment and enhancement of neighborhood Lemmens and its surroundings, work in harmony with associations while involving people in take part in the dynamic citizenship responsibility; cultural and sports activities and support to associations working in this direction.
